Tunisian crochet flower pouch/ make up bag

December 4, 2025 · Crochet, Crochet Bag

Hello everyone,

This Tunisian crochet make up bag is very easy to make, it’s very practical and, modern. This drawstring make up bag is very spacious, keeps things tidy. It’s closed strong pulling the drawstring cord, and lays flat. When you open it, you can see everything in there without searching around.

The drawstring make up bag makes the perfect gift for everyone for birthdays, Mother’s Day, for holidays. It’s fun and flower part make is beautiful. If you like, you can line the make up bag to make it stronger.

Written tutorial is below, I also attached the YouTube video tutorial of this bag below.

Hope you like this!

Notes (Forming the bag):

The bag is worked starting from the bottom until the desired length of the round piece and then the drawstrings are placed. Once the round part completed, the yarn is attached and the flowers are made. Detailed instructions are below.

YARN SUBSTITUTIONS:

https://amzn.to/4rJ1Vu6 “I love this cotton” yarn is another option for this project. This yarn is also medium weight cotton yarn, soft, I have used this yarn for so many projects, for making sweaters, baskets, bags, etc.

https://amzn.to/48JawVS Dishie yarn by Knit Picks also would be an another great cotton option for this make up bag It’s very soft, and lightweight. I have used this yarn many times and loved it. I very much recommend this yarn for making bags, sweaters, cardigans, etc.

We will place the drawstrings into the dc sts.

When you place the strings, skip 2 sts and place the next 2 sts, continue skipping 2, placing to 2.

After placing the first string, do the other one, starting from opposite site, do the same thing. You will have 2 strings to pull from each site when you close the bag.

Making the petals:
