Hi Everyone. I call this skirt a fairy skirt because it reminds me of Tinker Bell. The skirt turned out really beautiful. It’s soft, very lightweight, and you can wear it in summer with high heels, or in winter with leggings and boots. Possibilities are endless. It’s made with cotton yarn and I used 2 different sizes of knitting circular needless. Written detailed instructions are below.
Materials:
100 % medium weight cotton yarn. https://amzn.to/3YPxDrk
Circular needle size 6 mm and 3.75 mm. https://amzn.to/3YPm5EC I used 36 inches cord
YARN SUBSTITUTIONS:
https://amzn.to/3OViTCG. This yarn is one of my favorites, it’s 100 % Pima cotton, luxurious and very soft . This is a great yarn option for someone who likes to crochet or knit with soft yarn. When you crochet with this yarn it flows very easily and comfortably. I recommend this yarn for making sweaters, summer tops, dresses, etc.
https://amzn.to/3qLKH4n Dishie yarn by Knit Picks is also another great option. It’s also very soft, and very easy to crochet or knit. It’s also a 100% cotton yarn, and I have used this yarn so many times and love it.
https://amzn.to/3KXZgJf Wool of the Andes by Knit Picks is a great wool option for this skirt, and is probably a future project for me. It is worsted weight 100% Peruvian Highland Wool yarn, and the wool is very durable (wool that is cared for and not abused can last many years). It’s very soft to the touch and is of course also warm to wear. I have made sweaters, summer tops with this yarn and they turned out very soft, light weight.
NOTIONS:
Yarn Needle
Stitch Markers
Notes:
This skirt was easy and enjoyable to make and it didn’t take long time to make it. The body of the skirt was made in the rectangle and sides were closed after the body part was done. The band part was continued in the round.. Increases and decreases were done equally in the body part so the skirt went straight up and some decreases were done on the band part. Written detailed instructions are below.
