It’s very easy to make this crochet clutch/purse. It took less than 2 hours. Hope you like it!

Materials:

100% medium cotton yarn

2.75mm crochet hook.

Row 1: Ch 43, starting from the 4th ch from the hook, 1 dc each st until the last ch.

5dc to the last ch, place a marker to first and last ch of 5. (This area is where we are going to make an increase)

1 dc to remaining 40 sts.

Row2: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, 2 dc to each of 5sts (marked sts and the sts between them)

Row3: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, (1 dc to next st, 2 dc to next st)x5 (marked sts and the sts between them). Place the marker to the fist and last st of increased side. As shown above.

We are doing increase starting from the beginning of marked st, between the marked sts and the end of marked st including the marked sts.

Row 5: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, (1 dc to next 4sts, 2 dc to next st)x5, 1 dc to remaining 40sts.

Row 6: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, (1 dc to next 5sts, 2 dc to next st)x5, 1 dc to remaining 40sts.

Row 7: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, (1 dc to next 6sts, 2 dc to next st)x5, 1 dc to remaining 40sts.

Row 8: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, (1 dc to next 7sts, 2 dc to next st)x5, 1 dc to remaining 40sts.

Row 9: Ch 2, turn your work. 1 dc to next 40sts until the marked st, (1 dc to next 8sts, 2 dc to next st)x5, 1 dc to remaining 40sts.

We are going to close the edges with sl st back loops only.

This is how it will look after we close the sides.
