This crochet puff stitch tote is very easy to make. It’s made with 100% medium weight cotton yarn. If you like, you can make the bag with lining. Written instructions are below.

Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single Crochet
Ps: Puff Stitch
Sl st: Slip stitch
Mc: Magic circle
Written Instructions:
Make a mc,
Round 1: Ch 1, make 4 puff stitches inside the mc, ch 1 between the puff stitches.
Round 2: *Ch 1 make a ps, ch 2 make a ps inside the next space. Repeat from * until the end of the round ch 1 and sl st to close the round.
Round 3: *Ch 1 make a ps, ch 2 make a ps inside the same space and ch 1, make a ps to next space. Repeat from * until the end of the round.
Round 4: *Ch 1 make a ps, ch 2 make a ps inside the same space and ch 1, make a ps to next 2 spaces. Repeat from * until the end of the round. Sl st to close the round with color b.
Round 5: *Ch 1 make a ps, ch 2 make a ps inside the same space and ch 1, make a ps to next 3 spaces. Repeat from * until the end of the round.
Sl st to close the round and fasten off.

Making the handle:
Attach color b to the top of ps.
Using 2.75 mm crochet hook make 6 single crochet (sc) inside the ch 2 space.
1 sc to to the top of ps.
Ch 1 and turn your work. 1 sc to each st. 8 sc
Next round: Ch 1 and turn your work. 1 sc to each st. 8 sc
Next round: Ch 1 and turn your work. 1 sc to each st. 8 sc
Close the round and ch 1.
Working in a continuous spiral, 1 sc to each st until the desired length.
At the end without continuing in round, ch 1 and turn your work. 1 sc to each st. 8 sc.
Ch 1 and turn your work.
1 sc to each st. 8 sc for 2 rounds.
Connecting to the bag: 1 sc to top of ps, 6 sc inside the ch 2 space. 1 sc to top of ps. Fsten off. Weave the ends.
