Hello everyone,
This crochet coaster is made with less than one skein of yarn, and it took less than a day to make. This project can be a nice, quick gift. I think coasters are one of the easiest, fastest gifts, and you can also add a single strand and then hang them on a wall, refrigerator, or Christmas tree. (Double sided is recommended for using them as free hanging Christmas tree ornaments.) I think this pattern with flowers turned out really cute. Materials:

Tapestry needle to weave the ends.
Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single crochet
Sl st: Slip stitch
Dc: Double crochet
SM: Stitch marker
St (s): Stitch (es)
Hdc: Half double crochet
Special Stitches:
Puff stitch: Ch 1, pull loop, it’s slightly longer, (yo, insert hook into the ch and draw up a loop) x3, you have 7 loops on hook, holding the working yarn slightly with the opposite finger, yo and pull through all 4 loops on the hook, do not leave holding the working yarn, insert the hook into the working yarn and yo and pull through and make a sc to close the puff stitch.
Puff Stitch Clusters: Make a puff stitch without yo, continue making puff stitches into the next one or 2 holes and when you have 8-12 loops on your hook, holding the working yarn slightly with the opposite finger, yo and pull through all 8-12 loops on the hook, after you pull through the 8-12 loops, do not leave holding the working yarn, insert the hook into the working yarn and yo and pull through and make a sc to close the puff stitch clusters.
Written Tutorial:
Using 2.5 mm crochet hook, ch 4. Slip stitch to fourth stitch from the hook.
Make a puff stitch into the space.
Chain 1 and make 2 puff stitches together (puff stitch cluster)

(Make 2 puff stitch clusters) x4 more times
At the end make 1 puff stitch and slip stitch to beginning puff stitch to connect the round.


Round 2: Chain 1, make 1 puff stitch to the same stitch.

Chain 1, 3 puff stitch clusters together


Chain 1, 2 puff stitches together.

Repeat this in the round: Chain 1, 3 puff stitches together. Chain 1, 2 puff stitches together.
At the end, ch 1, 3 puff stitch clusters together.


At the end, chain 1, make 1 puff stitch and chain 1 slip stitch to close the round.


Round 3: 2 puff stitches to each center of the jasmine stitch. 24 puff stitches.

At the end, make 1 puff stitch and slip stitch to close the round.


Round 4: Chain 3, 3 double crochet into the each chain 1 space. 48 double crochet.
Make 1 double crochet to last space and slip stitch to close the round.


Using 2 mm crochet hook, chain 3, 1 double crochet to next 5 stitches.

2 half double crochet to next stitch. Making the center of the flower: Chain 1, 10 single crochet around the 2 half double crochet stitches. Slip stitch to close the round.

Making the petal:: Chain 6, slip stitch to second chain from hook.

make 10 slip stitches (going around the chains)

and slip stitch to same stitch

Yarn over and pull through all lops and chain 1.

skip one stitch and make 1 single crochet to next stitch. Chain 6 and repeat making the same petal.

Make total of 5 petals around the circle like this.


Continue on the background. 1 double crochet to next 5 stitches.

2 half double crochet to next stitch.
Making the center of the flower: Chain 1. 10 single crochet around the half double crochet stitches.
Slip stitch to close the round. and chain 6 and make the petal
Continue making flowers like this around the circle of the coaster and fasten off at the end.
