Crochet Christmas Tree

November 17, 2023 · Crochet

Hello,

It is very so easy to make this Christmas Tree. It would make a wonderful Christmas decoration in your home which is handmade. I used medium weight cotton yarn for this project and I only used 1 skein of both light and dark green yarns. The tree is created making leaf garlands, the garlands with 5, 4, and 3 leafs. Biggest garlands were used on the bottom of the tree, smallest garlands were used on the top of the tree, Written instructions and video tutorial are below.

Materials:

Floral shape, rectangle cardboard paper, made as cone shape.

100% Cotton yarn https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1435396&u=3680099&m=59159&urllink=&afftrack=

Crochet Hook: 5 mm https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1435391&u=3680099&m=59159&urllink=&afftrack=

Darning needle

Scissors

Abbreviations:

SC: Single crochet.

Dc: Double Crochet

MC: Magic circle.

CH: Chain

ST (S): Stitch (es)

Sl st: Slip stitch

Dc6tog: Double crochet six together

Written Instructions:

Making a leaf garland

Make a mc, and ch 2.

Dc6tog inside the mc (7 loops on the hook), yarn over an pull through one loop and yarn over and pull through 2 loops at a time until you have 2 loops on the hook.

When you have 2 loops on hook, turn opposite site, pick up those loops and continue with dc6tog to same mc on opposite site ( you have 8 loops on hook). Yarn over an pull through first loop and yarn over and pull through 2 loops at a time until 1 loop on the hook.

Pull the short strain of the yarn to close the mc.

Sl st to the edge of the leaf.

Ch 7 to continue to make another leaf.

Sl st to the 3rd ch to create a circle to star a new leaf.

Dc6tog inside that circle you created.

When you have 2 loops on hook, turn to opposite site, pick back up those 2 loops and continue with dc6tog.

Sl st to edge of the leaf and ch 7 to start a new leaf.

After you make the leafs, ch 2 and sl st to the other side of the leaf and close the circle.

Fasten off and weave the ends.

Make leaf garlands with 3,4, 5 leafs like this as many as possible to make a tree.

Making the cone

Slide the leaf garlands over the cardboard cone. Biggest garlands with 5 leafs go to the bottom of the tree. Medium ones with 4 leafs go in the middle, and smallest garlands with 3 leafs go on top.
