Crochet Alpine stitch handbag

May 22, 2025 · Crochet, Crochet Bag

Hello everyone,

This crochet handbag is very easy to make it. The bag is very sturdy and also lightweight. The base of the bag is made using thermal stitch which made the base sturdy and after the base is done, continued going up in the round, using alpine stitch and finished making handles.

It’s optional to do lining inside of the bag, the alpine stitch pattern is thick and covers all the holes. But on the other hand, lining makes the bag’s lifespan longer and lining can prevent bag from stretching overtime.

The written tutorial is below. I also attached the YouTube video tutorial below.

Hope you like this!

Materials:

Hemp Yarn- https://amzn.to/45hAT3X (this is the similar yarn that I used)

Crochet hook- https://amzn.to/43pqbWL

You also need scissors and yarn needle to weave the ends.

Special stitch:

Thermal single crochet (tss): Single crochet in the back loop of current row and the back loop from the previous row and continue making single crochet stitches going into back loops of current and previous rows.
