This was a really fun project for me. It’s very quick, it took me about an hour to make one heart shape. It can be a Valentines gift or a coaster. It’s also very soft. Step by step tutorial shows you the details of this project. Hope you like it!
Before you begin, review this page. I have added the abbreviations and the supplies that I have used.
Supplies that I used:
Medium weight cotton yarn
4mm knitting needles
Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations:
K Knit
K2tog Knit two together
KFB Knit front and back
St(S) Stitch(es)
SSK Slip, slip, knit
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS:
Cast on 7.
Row1: K all sts. (7sts)
Row 2: KFB, K to last st. KFB. (9 sts)
Row 3: K all stitches. (9 sts)
Row 2-9: Repeat rows 2 and 3 three more times. Until you have 15 sts on needle.
Row 10: K to the last st and KFB (16 sts)
Row 11: K all stitches. (16 sts)
Row 10-15: Repeat rows 10 and 11 two more times. Until you have 18 sts on needle.
Row 16: SSK, K to the last st, KFB. (18 sts)
Row 17: K all stitches. (18 sts)
Row 16-23: Repeat rows 16 and17 three more times.You will have18 sts on needle.
Row 24: KFB. K to last 2 sts. K2tog. (18 sts)
Row 25: K all stitches. (18 sts)
Row 24-31: Repeat rows 24 and 25 three more times.You will have18 sts on needle.
Row 32: K to last 2 sts. K2tog. (17 sts)
Row 33: K all sts. (17 sts)
Row 32- 37: Repeat rows 32 and 33 two more times.You will have15 sts on needle.
Row 38: SSK. K to last 2 sts. K2tog (13 sts)
Row 39: K all sts. (13 sts)
Repeat rows 38 and 39 three more times until 7 sts on needle and bind off.
